Neutral Density Filters

I bought a few Neutral Density filters early this year but never had a good opportunity to use them until recently. Below is a picture of my kit:

Neutral Density filters reduce the amount of light passing through your lens. From left to right are an ND2, ND4, and ND8 filter. They allow for a 1,2, and 3 f -stop reduction respectively. Very handy for reducing the shutter speed and or allowing a wider aperature.

I used them on vacation to take pictures of a waterfalls, as shown in the following photos. They were done at about 1/3 to 1/2 second and used a ND8 filter. They aren't perfect, but it shows how slow you can make the exposure and still be able to make a decent exposure:
